Visitation Makumbi students on community service

Fifty-eight students from Visitation Makumbi High School will from the 11th to the 21st of December 2018 embark on a ten day voluntary service program to various homes and centres for the disabled and less privileged.

The program which is driven by the desire to be a people for others and to do more for Christ through servitude is on its second year running for Visitation Makumbi.

The students were divided into groups and will be of service to Mutoko Leprosy Centre, L’Arche Zimbabwe, Shungu Dzevana, Zambuko, St Marcelin, Emerald Hill, Masvingo Zimcare Trust, Chinhoyi Children’s Home, Kwekwe MaryWard Children’s Home and Gweru.

Visitation-Makumbi High School, situated 30 km from Harare, Zimbabwe, was founded by the Dominican Order of Sisters in the early 1960s and is currently a diocesan school administered by the Society of Jesus as a part of Makumbi Mission.

Visitation Makumbi caters for over 900 students, with about 600 being boarders.
