‘We return to work begrudgingly’: Doctors announce end of strike
THE doctors’ umbrella body, the Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors’ Association, has announced the official end of their members’ strike, with no salary review, and with their December salaries frozen.
The industrial action, which lasted 40 days, ended with divisions among the association’s membership, with strike fatigue, lack of income, and political infiltration taking centre stage.
In a statement on Thursday morning, the association said: “As we return to work begrudgingly, we will be working with whatever is available.”
