A Parliamentary Portfolio Committee meeting on Mines & Mining Development collapsed on Monday after Norton member of the House of Assembly Temba Mliswa accused former Chairperson of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Transport, Dexter Nduna of illegitimately benefiting $11 million from the Zimbabwe National Roads Administration.
Mliswa also accused Nduna of not taking his Anti-Retroviral treatment which were causing him to be mentally ill. He challenged Nduna to go and get tested for HIV/Aids.
Nduna would not take it lying down and threatened to deal with Mliswa “outside of Parliament.”
Mliswa, who was suspended from the Mines committee chairperson position to pave way for investigations into corruption allegations levelled against him, said he was convinced the Parliament has an agenda against him.
“I am beginning to question the sincerity and integrity of Parliament of Zimbabwe seeing the convenient manner in which they select issues to prosecute and ignore.
“Legislators who have been fingered in financial audits are being chosen for more positions whilst a mere media allegation leads to the creation of an investigative committee on some. There is subtle politicization and factionalism at Parliament.”
