Nigeria’s Odion Ighalo who plays for Shanghai Greenland Shenhua semerged the top scorer of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Following a seven-goal return in just four games, the former Watford striker became the top marksman in the AFCON qualifiers ahead of Burundi’s Fiston Abdul Razak (6 goals).
Comoros’ El Fardou Ben Nabouhane and Zimbabwe’s Knowledge Musona who finished with five goals each to their name.
Libya were Ighalo’s favorite opponents during the AFCON qualifiers, with the Super Eagles number nine finding the net five times in two matches.
The 29-year-old Ighalo was presented with a cake by his teammates and Super Eagles officials to celebrate finishing as the top scorer.
