With all my scandals, I’m still wife material: Pokello
Socialite and businesswoman Pokello Nare says that her marriage to fellow Ghanaian Big Brother housemate Elikem Kurmodzie in 2013 was part of a move to prove that she was still a wife material.
The former Big Brother Africa housemate says she has made a lot of mistakes in her life, but has learned from them.
Pokello said: “I made a lot of mistakes in my life and I have learned from them. I also got married at the age of 28 because I felt like I needed to prove to people that with all my scandals, I still am wife material.”
The self-proclaimed queen of swagger recently opened up about what led her to divorce with Ghanaian Elikem Kumordzie, saying the tailor was not ready to be a husband.
Pokello and Elikem, who met on the Big Brother Africa reality show in 2013 divorced last year after a four-year relationship. They have a son together.
She, however, said that now she learnt there is no need to prove anything to anyone.
“We do not need to prove or validate anything to anyone. What you need to do is focus on your careers, making money and happiness.
“Stop giving men the power to define your destiny. I am such a feminist and a major advocate for independent young women.”
During her wedding ceremony, Pokello was adorned in a colorful royal blue material with a touch of Africa’s rich kente.
In a sudden turn of events, she recently gave away that dress to a fan of hers who intended to get married and is her size.
“When it is over between you and your love one, it is advisable that one gets rid of whatever you have remaining which reminds or is connected to your past with your ex especially if one has found a new love,” she said.
