Statement: Condolences to the Java and Tsvangirai Families
I am sending messages of condolences to the family, colleagues and comrades of the late Hon, Vimbai Tsvangirai-Java who passed on yesterday.
We all thought she would make it after the horrific car accident that happened on the 12th of May.
Sadly she has succumbed to the internal injuries she suffered during the accident.
Hon. Vimbai Tsvangirai-Java is counted amongst the few icons of democracy in Zimbabwe, and had just been appointed to serve as the Assembly of Women Secretary General.
She sure was going to be instrumental to the MDC Women transformation because she was a capable hard working MP and MDC cadre.
She was exposed to the MDC struggle at a young tender age cause her late parents were leaders of the struggle, and she had remained following the footsteps left by her father Dr. Morgan Tsvangirai.
She remains one of the exemplary young women leaders of the MDC, upon whom young people should look up to for political solace.
In Glen View, the late Hon. Vimbai Tsvangirai-Java is credited with pioneering clean up campaigns and many beneficial initiatives to her constituency.
Personally she was one of my dependable members of MDC.
Her death leaves a huge void in the MDC, Parliament and me as a sister figure. I want to end by sending messages of comfort and gratitude to the Tsvangirai family, Apostle Java and family, who have lost their beloved one.
