Chigova ready for Uganda
Warriors’ first choice goalkeeper, George Chigova says he is ready for the challenge as he makes a welcome return in Zimbabwe’s next 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) encounter against Uganda on Wednesday.
Thrust into the hot seat with first choice goalkeeper, George Chigova suspended, Edmore Sibanda was refreshingly at the very best.
It was a vintage performance plucked from the top drawer but unfortunately for him it did not end well with injury cutting short what had been until then a special night.
True to Zimbabwe’s depth between the posts, Chigova is ready to step in after being endorsed by coach Sunday Chidzambwa soon after the match against Egypt.
Chigova is not just focused on the task at hand but knows what the Warriors have to do if they are entertaining any hopes of reaching the Round of 16.
Whatever happens between now and Wednesday, the nation prays that not only will Chigova be in the right frame of mind but the Warriors deliver and collect maximum points against Uganda.
